You can tell a lot about a person from the energy they give. The special guest on this episode of The Mile High Podcast is one of the most energetic people on the planet, Brooke Mills!

Brooke grew up in a chiropractic family and now is a tenth-quarter student at Sherman College. You would think that simply going to chiropractic school would be enough of a challenge for anybody, and in many cases that’s true.  It’s not true of Brooke.  There’s so much more to her than that!

Brooke founded National Concussion Awareness Day.  She also started a non-profit, Lessen The Impact. Even before graduating from Sherman, she's already served on eight international chiropractic mission trips.  Brooke has raised funds for the Brain Injury Association of New Hampshire, donated countless hours of community service, and has been a competitor in the Ms. New Hampshire contest. Brooke was the winner of the Student Speaker Contest for Mile High 2022, and absolutely wowed the audience with her presentation.

On this podcast you’ll hear:

  • The adventure of growing up in a chiropractic family
  • What it’s like to be a chiropractic student today
  • A student’s vision for the future of Chiropractic
  • The vital importance of service to the community and the world
  • And Much, Much More!

It’s inspiring to know that there are students like Brooke, who are coming up in the Chiropractic profession.  Listen to this podcast and you’ll be encouraged to find that Chiropractic will be in good hands for years to come!

Many years ago when Richelle and I were students at Sherman College, Reggie Gold told students that the battle for politics and philosophy in Chiropractic has moved from the school level to the state level. He said that we had to be board-busters and change our state organizations and state boards. Richelle took that to heart and has been part of changing the state board and state organization in Colorado since we arrived over 20 years ago.

In this episode, you’ll hear the new president of the Colorado Chiropractic Association discuss the changes that have happened and will be happening in the months ahead. People, listen to this because this in not just a Mile High State episode. It will help you have some insight about how you can make an impact in your state, in your region, or your country. While at Parker Chiropractic College, Dr. Waters fell in love with neurology. He found it fascinating to see how the nervous system from a neurological standpoint runs everything from the cells, tissues, organs, and disease processes. “I can see a change in a person right after a treatment. It drives me to see that change in somebody. It’s satisfying to see someone crawl into my office and be able to walk out.” Or as his wife likes to say, “Hobble in but skip out.”

In addition to his Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Waters serves the Colorado Chiropractic Association (CCA) as current President 2021-2022

When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Waters enjoys an active family life with his wife, son, and 2 dogs. The family enjoys listening to music, going to the zoo, taking nature walks and going to thrift stores. Dr. Waters is also a Mason, Shriner, and belongs to the Scottish Rite. He also spends time officiating at high school football games and working out at a local gym. Check out the Colorado Chiropractor’s Association website at http://www.coloradochiropractic.org.

On this episode you’ll find out about:

· What excites Dr. Jarod about Chiropractic

· His journey in the Chiropractic profession

· The changes at the state association level that are taking place in Colorado

Jarod’s favorite quote is, “Three things that will cause disease are thoughts, trauma and toxins.” If you're not happy with some of the things you see happening in the Chiropractic profession, be the change and make changes in your state. More change is on the horizon in Colorado, and gratefully the state association has made some of those changes and is currently on the path to making more of those changes.
