You’re in for a real treat on this episode with Dr. Jonathan Chung, of Wellington, Florida. Dr. Chung is an upper-cervical practitioner, focused on NUCCA technique. He's a graduate of the University of Central Florida, as well as Life University. You can see Dr. Chung in person when you join us at Mile High. You can save yourself some money when you get your tickets right now. As we get closer to show time, they’ll be considerably more expensive. Colorado is the place to be August 17th through 20th register now at www.milehighchiro.org/pre-register

Dr. Jonathan Chung’s expertise and interest is focused on the upper-cervical spine. He’s done incredible research, and published seven papers through McCoy Press journals. In addition, he’s developed new, cutting-edge information on concussions, and how concussions relate to chiropractic, especially upper-cervical spine care. Read his bio here

His commitment to excellence in his practice has helped him develop new objective indicators that help his practice members shift from pain-focused to function-focused. His expertise on the mechanics of the upper-cervical spine, and its impact on neurology, is a dynamic paradigm, of which every chiropractor needs to be aware.

You’re going to be totally impressed when you hear him speak on this episode, as am I every time I hear him present. And this episode is just a small taste of what you’ll hear, learn and enjoy at the Mile High weekend.

Often people ask, “Why are we not seeing as many miracles in chiropractic as in chiropractic's early days?” I will submit that it's because too few chiropractors have had a chiropractic experience, either in their own health or life, or in that of the people for whom they care. Thus, they water down chiropractic. Furthermore, chiropractic schools are teaching less and less chiropractic, so people are learning it elsewhere if they’re fortunate enough to do so.

In this episode, our special guest is Steve Tullius. He serves the IFCO and is an ACP graduate. Steve also dedicates a tremendous amount of time to mentoring other chiropractic teams, helping in the chiropractic political realm in addition to caring for patients in his own office. Read his bio here

In addition to caring for his own son, who has health challenges, Dr. Steve Tullius has grown his skill set, enabling him to communicate with and focus on pediatric patients who have had neuro-developmental disorders. By focusing as a specialist, who serves that population with subluxation corrective care, Dr. Steve has been able to grow a pediatric-focused practice, help a tremendous number of kids and see more chiropractic miracles in his practice.

Steve will be one of the core speakers at this year’s Mile High event in Denver. Join us August 17th-20th, 2017, at Higher Altitude! You can save yourself some money if you register right now, before the next rise in the investment level. Register here: www.milehighchiro.org/pre-register

So often, philosophy is used as a term in chiropractic circles of just something people give lip service to. They say they know their philosophy, they are philosophical, and they can quote some bumper sticker phrases, as well as memorize or recite some concepts that they memorized. To deepen your philosophy, join us at Mile High, August 17th - 20th. Make the decision to rise up to a higher altitude this year before tickets rise up again www.milehighchiro.org/pre-register

Catch up with Patrick Gentempo on this Mile High podcast episode as we go deep into philosophical concepts.dr. Gentempo has been one of my favorite speakers to hear from many years now. He brings a unique and refreshing message and we are excited that he will be joining us at Mile High this year.

Questions I asked:

  • Why is philosophy so important?
  • What do you mean when you say applied philosophy?
  • How do you get people to understand the message of chiropractic?
  • What's the relationship between philosophy and chiropractic politics?
  • And much more.

This is going to be one of your favorite episodes of the Mile High podcast. I know as it is one of mine because any time you talk to someone where you can really “pitch and catch” relative to philosophical concepts, like myself and Patrick Gentempo do in this particular episode, you get not only an uplifting in your energy, but you also get increased depth. Actually, in this episode, a lot of depth relative to the key constructs that you need to be successful. Not just in practice, but also in life, by having an examined philosophical life.

We have also discussed three key books that he recommends to start your philosophical journey.

  • Atlas Shrugged by Aryn Rand
  • Philosophy, Who Needs It? By Ayn Rand
  • Stephenson's Chiropractic Textbook, 1927

Chiropractic today for a better world tomorrow, that has been a mantra that we have heard in the chiropractic profession for multiple decades. However, it is very common for chiropractors to look only at stagnant models that are outdated. "Camping at the grave-site of their ancestors as Reggie Gold would say.". Mile High tickets are rising April 15th Grab yours here www.milehighchiro.org.

Few take the foundational values and principals of our vitalistic philosophies being in congruence with them and bringing them into today's philosophical, scientific, and research understandings. This is an area in which Donald Epstein has always been a trailblazer; that is focusing on what is next. What is the next level, what is the next possible thing to aim for and how far can we take this vitalistic values and principles of our philosophy into it actually manifesting in ways chiropractic has promised.

This episode is a deep one; this is not a light to listen to so I recommend that you take out a notepad to take notes. We discuss a full range from neurological coherence and central pattern generators and even discuss Sid William's quote that "There is nothing bigger than life. " This is a rare episode where you hear Donald Epstein talk about "dropping the keys."

Everyone who listens to this will certainty have their beliefs and thoughts processes stretched into new dimensions to think deeper about what it is that we think we know. Enjoy this episode and get more Donald Epstein at Mile High August 17th to 20th, 2017.

Most doctors do not want to admit this, however a limiting factor that is rampant in the chiropractic profession is not putting the time, effort and energy into building a world class championship chiropractic team. More than ever, we need programs that build community and connection in chiropractic, especially for females. That's the message that Dr. Jessica Harden shares. Dr. Jessica Harden is a Life University graduate from 2012 and has been doing great things in just five short years out of school. Not only has she published research on Pierce technique and scoliosis through McCoy Press, but she has also started FLIGHT. Join us on Higher Ground August 17-20 at Mile High before prices rise up April 15th. www.milehighchiro.org

Find out more about Dr. Jessica Harden here. In this episode, she and I talk about the importance of creating critical mass in our profession, Subluxation centered research, Women in chiropractic and the rise of female enrollment in chiropractic school.

In fact, Sherman College's enrollment is now 49% female, just about to tip the scales.

One of the things that I find most inspirational is a practitioner who is working to inspire others. They're thinking out of the box of just their four walls of their office and know we have to become a chiropractic movement once again. We do that by rallying the troops and knowing that when the tides come in, all the ships rise together. Enjoy this episode and if you do please share it with others and subscribe to us on iTunes.

One of the greatest things about doing the mile high podcast is getting to connect with great people within the chiropractic profession and I am grateful to help you connect to them as well. This podcast episode is very close to my heart as Bill Decken, the current philosophy chair of Sherman College of Chiropractic, was one of my philosophy instructors when I was a student at Sherman. Join us at Mile High August 17-20, 2017 Reserve your seats here.

He has served Chiropractic for 30 years through Sherman College, as well as the Academy of Chiropractic Philosophers (ACP) and the International Research and Philosophy Symposium (IRAPS).

In this episode, we discussed some of the philosophical concepts that both students in the class room as well as doctors in the ACP Program find most challenging to grow through, and comprehend.

We also discussed why philosophy is important relative to the professions future and success in practice. Any time that you can connect with Bill Decken is time well spent. Enjoy this podcast episode. I know you will get a lot out of it. I did while watching it, and you will even learn why National League is more congruent to principle than the American League.
