One of these most valuable acknowledgements I've ever received was at graduation for chiropractic college, from Sherman College, The Clinical Excellence Award.  It was a complete surprise to me and something I was very grateful to receive.  Throughout my 20+ years in practice, clinical excellence has always been the highest standard for which to reach.  It’s important to continually raise the bar for clinical excellence.

On this podcast you’ll hear a recording of a class I taught at Sherman college of Chiropractic for their second quarter of students with Dean, Dr. Brian Dooley.  After presenting the class Brian thought it would be great if the fans of the Mile High Podcast got to be flies on the wall and listen to what we presented.

Clinical excellence is important, and that's why Mile High 2021 is focused on the ART of Chiropractic. There are so many things that doctors do in Chiropractic and call it ART, and the focus isn’t necessarily on the ART.  The  real focus is on clinical excellence, which is the basis for the ART.

Enjoy this podcast where you learn more about clinical excellence in chiropractic care. Consider how you can raise the bar in your own practice. One of the ways to an outstanding practice is to actually deliver clinically-excellent care.

If you haven’t reserved your seats for Mile High 2021 in Denver, September 23rd – 26th, do it.  The information, motivation, and inspiration you receive will elevate your skills in the art and create increasing success in your practice in 2022 and beyond.

Thank you all!

Let’s move forward together!

Someone about whom everyone is talking is Dr. Ian Shtulman.  Frequently when I travel and talk to other chiropractors, they tell me how highly they think of Ian Shtulman.  He's a second-generation chiropractor practicing in Palm Beach County, Florida.  He’s a Life University graduate who received a philosophy distinction award.  Dr Shtulman is well-known for teaching pediatrics.  He's a diplomat in the pediatrics program and is on the faculty of the ICPA.  Dr. Ian is passionate about fostering relationships with medical professionals about the importance of children, infants, families, and everyone receiving quality chiropractic care focused on the location, analysis, and adjustment of subluxation.

You’ll find the podcast exciting and informative.  You’ll also find his presentation at Mile High 2021 in Denver, September 23rd – 26th.  If you haven’t already, be sure to reserve seats for yourself and your team for Mile High right away, because your investment to register will increase at 11:59 PM on August 1st.

On this podcast, you’ll get to hear wisdom from the one and only Dr. Neil Cohen, Vice-President of Sherman College.  You’ll find out what’s happening at Sherman and some thoughts about the calling of Chiropractic.

Dr. Neil Cohen began his tenure as Executive Vice President of Sherman College of Chiropractic in March 2014 and has been given charge of several key departments, in addition to ensuring the accomplishment of the vision and mission set forth by Sherman College President, Dr. Edwin Cordero.

Dr. Cohen ran a successful practice for more than 28 years before accepting this key position at Sherman College. Deeply invested in the founding principles of Chiropractic, Dr. Cohen has been a Board Member of principled organizations such as the Southern Chiropractic Association and the Florida Chiropractic Society. He is a frequent platform speaker motivating and inspiring those within the Chiropractic profession. Dr. Cohen is excited for the opportunity in guiding the direction of a chiropractic college — he believes that it is an extraordinary opportunity to shape the minds of students who will ultimately shape the future of our great profession.

Dr. Cohen is a 1986 graduate of Life Chiropractic College under the leadership of Dr. Sid E. Williams who has profoundly influenced the course of his chiropractic journey. Dr. Neil Cohen is also the recipient of the 2011 Chiropractor of the Year Award from the Southern Chiropractic Association.

Dr. Cohen says, “Principled Chiropractic is the Greatest profession in the world! The key to man's well-being has always been inside the living man. The specific scientific chiropractic adjustment releases Life restoring health and unlocking human potential.  Our health care system is broken, and the people are being led down a slippery slope of symptom cessation not health. No restoration can occur from a prescription drug.  My vision is to rid the world of chronic subluxation thereby allowing the full expression of Life and Health.”

On this podcast you’ll discover:

  • What the Chiropractic profession will look like in 25 years
  • Why events like Mile High are so important
  • Why Sherman College is interested in the future of the profession

When I dared to be powerful, to use my strength and the service of my vision, it became less and less important whether I am afraid. - Audre Lorde

Tamara MacIntyre tells us that's her favorite quotes.  The Prada Foundation and Tamara MacIntyre are two of my favorites in chiropractic, and for good reason. They are bringing neuro back into chiropractic and envisioning chiropractors helping people manifest exactly as they imagine. They're expressing themselves authentically and practicing in ways that become effortless.

Tamara MacIntyre, D.C. is both a Doctor of Chiropractic and Doctor of Natural Medicine. Prior to becoming Dean of Clinical Education at Life Chiropractic College West, she practiced in Ottawa, Canada for 14 years where she was recognized as a leading authority in chiropractic and functional medicine. Patients travelled from all over the world to receive her care and access the depth of her expertise.

Dr. MacIntyre is a gifted educator and mentor known for her power, intelligence and grace. She’s a role model for many and particularly the young women in the profession. She is touted as a ‘clinical genius’ by students, her wisdom and insight pervade every facet of their education. She inspires with her depth of knowledge, expertise, and level of compassion with which she encourages you to consider every detail of your patient's comfort and experience.

She summons forth the doctors within her students and challenges them to be those people NOW, to show up NOW, to act as if and truly understand the importance and gravity of the role of facilitator.  You are invited to trust and to grow from fledgling academics to full- blown clinicians.

She is one of few who have the ability to create a massive shift in consciousness simply by being present.

On this podcast you’ll discover:

  • What are the values of our newest, brightest doctors are
  • What it means to bring feminine expression to the professional
  • Why so many doctors struggle finding the space where practice is effortless
  • The trends in old models of practice versus new models of practice

In many areas of American culture, wisdom has lost its perceived value.  Sadly, this has also happened in the Chiropractic profession.  Mile High is designed to counteract that trend and embraces the wisdom of those who have been in the practice of chiropractic for decades.

Dr. Robert DeBonis is one of the revered elder statesmen of chiropractic.  He is an international ambassador for the ICA.  When Hurricane Irma destroyed his office in Coral Bay in the US Virgin Islands, Dr. Bob,” found there truly was a silver lining.

“The International Chiropractic Association had been wanting me to take an active role in promoting chiropractic for a number of years, but I could never make the commitment,” he said. With the loss of his office, he decided to take the opportunity to travel.

He joined a group of eight western chiropractors traveling in China. Accompanied by interpreters, they fanned out, each taking a different route, to treat tens of thousands of patients. Since 2017, Dr. Bob has been to 30 cities in China on four different trips.

He's helped introduce ChiropracTIC to the Kingdom of Tonga, where he served as a mentoring doc and served as a chairman of New York State Board of ChiropracTIC. After practicing in Manhattan for 28 years, he moved to the US Virgin Islands.  He's currently a member of the board of ChiropracTIC examiners and a delegate to FCLB and NBACE.

  • On this podcast you’ll hear:

    • That ChiropracTIC is a unique, non-duplicable, separate, distinct service
    • Concerns about the “vitalistic” camp
    • What the big idea of ChiropracTIC is
    • And much more!

More of the younger docs in ChiropracTIC, including many of us who have been in the profession quite a while, need to take the lead from doctors like Robert DeBonis over their lifetime at this level. All chiropractors need to open their minds to the teaching of Dr. Bob and other elder statesmen in the profession!  The profession in the world and humanity will change for the better if we do.

Be sure to reserve seats for yourself and your team at Mile High 2021 in Denver, September 23rd – 26th and learn a ton about The Art of Chiropractic!
