For over 27 years, Dr. Lyons has been a noteworthy speaker and leader in the Chiropractic profession. Dr. Erik’s early fascination with engineering led him to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Michigan Technological University.  A pivotal experience with chiropractic care transformed his perspective on health. The very special guest on this episode of The Mile High Podcast is Dr. Jack Bourla!  He was appointed as the 6th president of Sherman College of Chiropractic in October 2023.

A particular note is that Dr. Jack Bourla attends Mile High every year. Spoke this past year as the sixth president of Sherman College now. Around the chiropractic profession, Dr. Bourla is known for his compassionate leadership style, command of the chiropractic philosophy, and diplomatic handling of diverse opinions in the field.

Dr. Bourla is the owner of Providence Chiropractic Center in Redwood City, California and a 1997 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic West. In addition to providing chiropractic care to his community for the past 25 years, he has served the profession in many ways: as Dean of Clinics at the Life Chiropractic College West Health Center, an 11 year member of Sherman College’s Regent Program, as an active member of the International Federation of Chiropractors and Organizations (IFCO) where he has been a board member, three-time president and a two term board chair, a committed member of the Delta Sigma Chi fraternity, and an international speaker promoting the purity of chiropractic.

The very special guest on this episode of The Mile High Podcast is Ali Frick.  Ali is a 12th-quarter student at Sherman College of Chiropractic. She was originally from South Bend, Indiana, before making her journey to South Carolina. She found her passion for Chiropractic while in her undergraduate programs, studying exercise science and hoping to go to school to be a physical therapist. After being introduced to Chiropractic by Dr. Robert Schiffman, who explained principled Chiropractic to her, she knew Chiropractic was the career path for her and how she wanted to live her life.

She is the president of Zeta Phi Chi, a principled Chiropractic sorority on the Sherman College campus. Their mission is to promote principled Chiropractic. Ali has a drive to spread the true power of Chiropractic and its philosophy. Ali will graduate from Sherman College in March 2024. Her favorite quote is, “Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude!”

Ali was selected as the student speaker for Mile High. This opportunity is given to one student each year and the contest will be open for Mile High XII in the near future.  If you are a student, be watching for announcements about that.  There is also an opportunity for one doctor to be selected to speak from stage as well.

Dr. Mackenzie McNamara is a pediatric and perinatal chiropractor on a mission to help families and children to live to their optimal potential. A 2013 graduate of Logan College of Chiropractic, Dr. McNamara currently owns a private practice in St. Charles, Missouri at Gateways Quantum Center. She is a CACCP, is on the Advisory Board for Kentuckiana Children’s Center, and is a member of the ICPA and ASRF. Dr. McNamara is a paradigm-shifter, speaker, mom, and lover of life. In addition to her chiropractic practice, she has taught for the Food Enzyme Institute since 2018, and held her own Holistic Family Practice Seminars at Logan College of Chiropractic where she was named a Postgraduate Faculty Member in 2019.
